Uruguay first football national team captured the bronze medal of 2024 Copa America after defeating Canada 4-3 by penalties.
Both teams had a strong game and it ended with a 2-2 draw, therefore, they were shifted to penalties.
Canada were close to capture the first medal in thier history, but the veteran Luis Suarez bought his national team back by getting the equalizer in the minute 92.
Canada dropped to the bronze medal game after their defeat by Argentina 2-0 in the semi-final, while Uruguay dropped to the third place game after their defeat by Colombia in the semi-final.
The bronze medal is the best result recorded by Uruguay since 2011 when they captured the cup of the tournament.
