UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in the Arab States – Cairo, in partnership with the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO and the Egyptian Society for Adolescent Medicine, will showcase Egyptian adolescents’ talents for the second year in a row at the “Adolescent’s Creativity” celebration.

The celebration will be held at the Cairo Opera House under the patronage of H.E Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, H.E Minister of Education and Technical Education, and H.E Minister of Culture.

The second edition of the “Adolescent’s Creativity” celebration taking place on December 7th, 2019 will feature remarkable  young talents aged 10 – 19, with the aim of acknowledging this age group, shedding light on outstanding talents, boosting their self-confidence, and demonstrating the creative capacity of adolescents.

This year, the presence of a number of celebrities and government officials among the audience intends to convey a message of support, appreciation and realization to those young yet outstanding adolescents.

Last December, the Cairo Opera House witnessed the impressive success of the first edition of the “Adolescent’s Creativity” celebration; more than 300 young talents from all over Egypt took the stage. Adolescents were able to impress a large audience with a wide array of talents including drawing, painting, abstract art, singing, dancing, instrument playing, poetry reciting and acting.

Associating adolescents with creativity, high capability, and productivity replaces the common image viewing adolescence as a difficult and dreaded phase. Therefore, this has become one of UNESCO Cairo Office’s flagship initiatives to empower adolescents through harnessing the potential of creativity, music and art. UNESCO Cairo Office and its partners are striving towards establishing this celebration as an annual tradition, where adolescents’ creativity, unique talents and potential are constantly recognized and fostered.
