UN said that almost 4.5 million Ukrainian refugees fled the country due to the Russian military operation.

On Saturday, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees stated that the number of Ukrainian refugees has reached at least 4,441,663 people since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24.

This represents the largest wave of refugees in Europe since WW2.

Women and children constitute 90% of these refugees, especially since the Ukrainian authorities do not allow men qualified to perform military service to leave the country.

The International Organization for Migration mentioned that about 210,000 people who do not hold Ukrainian citizenship have fled this country due to the conflict.

The United Nations estimates the number of displaced people in Ukraine at 7.1 million, according to data published by the International Organization for Migration on April 5, which means that at least 11 million people have been forced to leave their homes due to the invasion.
