The United Nations revealed its full rejection of the Turkish President Erdogan's visit to Varsoha town, Northern Cyprus according to Al Arabiya.

Erdogan arrived at the Turkish-invaded part of Cyprus island to hold several meetings with Ersin Tatar, the leader of the Turkish Cypriots supported by Turkey only.

Varosha had been fenced off ever since Turkey’s 1974 invasion of northern Cyprus. In addition, the touristic activities of the town have resumed lately after long years of suspending.

During his visit, Erdogan supported the "two-state" solution to the Cyprus Island Crisis.

"Our priority is to ensure a fair, lasting and sustainable solution" in Cyprus that ensures Turkish Cypriots have security and legal rights," Erdogan said to the audience after his arrival to Cyprus according to Arab News.

“There are two peoples and two separate states in Cyprus. There must be talks for a solution on the basis of two separate states,” he added.

On the other hand, Cyprus President, Nicos Anastasiades condemns this "provocation" picnic in an official statement.

"They simultaneously undermine the efforts of the UN secretary-general to call an informal five-party meeting between Greek and Turkish Cypriots, Athens, Ankara and former colonial power London," he said.

Anastasiades added that such actions also “do not contribute to the creation of a favourable, positive climate for the resumption of talks for the solution of the Cyprus problem.”

The crisis of Cyprus is still one of the most complicated political issues as five parties are required to reach a suitable deal: Greece, Turkey, the UK, Cyprus, and the TRNC.
