The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced allocating $70 million to support critical humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
As the war continues to take a devastating toll on civilians, the country faces one of its most challenging humanitarian crises in recent history.
According to OCHA, nearly 12.7 million people in Ukraine will require humanitarian assistance in 2025.
This includes displaced individuals, returnees, and those living in regions severely impacted by ongoing hostilities.
The highest concentrations of needy people are in eastern, northern, and southern Ukraine, where the conflict's effects have been most profound.
The $70 million allocation from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund will support activities outlined in the 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan.
These funds will enable the delivery of comprehensive, multi-sector assistance tailored to the needs of newly displaced people, those returning to their homes, and residents in frontline and conflict-affected communities.
Priority will be given to the most vulnerable populations in areas experiencing the highest levels of need, ensuring that aid reaches those who are most at risk.
