UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, stated on Monday that around 400,000 Palestinians have been displaced in the Gaza Strip since Israel resumed military operations on March 18.
In a statement, Dujarric said: “In Gaza, survivors have been repeatedly displaced and forced to move to an ever-shrinking area where their basic needs cannot be met.”
Israeli forces have continued their assault on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
The ongoing aggression has resulted in the deaths of 50,752 Palestinians—most of them women and children—and the injury of 115,475 others, according to preliminary figures.
Rescue teams remain unable to reach many victims trapped under the rubble or stranded in the streets.
