Ukrainian President, Polish Counterpart Discuss Defense Co-op

Polish President Andrzej Duda and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky discussed defense cooperation between both countries over the phone. 

During their conversation, both leaders tackled Warsaw's continued support for "Kyiv", in addition to the situation in the east of the country, where Russian forces have been present, since the start of its military operation on February 24.

Moreover, they also discussed further steps that will be taken by both countries.

On his part, the Ukrainian president said that he had a phone call with his Polish counterpart on defense cooperation between the two countries, expressing his thanks to Duda for his efforts in strengthening international support for Ukraine's candidacy for European Union (EU) membership.

"Had a phone conversation with @AndrzejDuda about defense cooperation between Ukraine and Poland. I am grateful for his efforts to consolidate international support for Ukraine's EU candidate status," he tweeted.

It is worth mentioning that, The Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the European Council, Borys Tarasyuk stressed that Russia will not be able to impede Ukraine's progress towards European Union (EU) membership.

In a statement, Tarasyuk said that Ukraine is actively working to achieve a positive decision from the European Union, especially during the European Union Council scheduled to be held on 23-24 June.
