A shipment of wheat donated by Ukraine to support the operations of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Sudan has arrived in Port Sudan.

In a statement, UN agency said,on Wednesday, that the food donation will be a key part of the food rations provided to one million people affected by conflict in Sudan for a month.

Moreover, it added that the delivery of this shipment - which is part of the Ukrainian humanitarian initiative "Grain from Ukraine" launched by President Volodymyr Zelensky - was facilitated by the German Foreign Ministry, which covered the full operational costs of 15 million euros.

This includes the costs of transporting the wheat from Ukraine to Sudan and distributing it within the country to those affected.
