Ukrainian navy's flagship Hetman Sahaidachny (U130) sunk as Russia continues its advance on Ukraine's southern Black Sea.
An image of the ship sitting half-submerged on its side took over social media Thursday evening.
The incident occurred due to Russian attacks in the neighboring country.
However, reports claim that the vessel was sunk on purpose in order to keep it from falling into the enemy's hands.

The 30-year-old frigate was supposedly receiving repairs in the port city of Mykolaiv when it was sunk.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that 16,000 foreign volunteers arrived to help with their fight against Russia.
In a video address one week into the conflict, Zelensky reaffirmed that Ukraine is fully prepared to stand up against Russia’s attacks, adding that they “started welcoming foreign volunteers” who are coming to the country to join the war.
Furthermore, Zelensky noted that Ukraine has been receiving weapons every day from its international allies to assist them against Russian attacks.
“The first of 16,000 are coming to defend the liberty and life of us and of everyone. I’m sure it will be successful,” he said, via Associated Press.
