The UK reported on Friday seven deaths of rare blood clotting in cases that received AstraZeneca.
The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) added that it found at least 30 blood clotting cases in a total of 18 million AstraZeneca recipients.
MHRA Executive Chief Dr. June Raine asserted the importance of using the vaccine regardless of blood clotting concerns.
He explained: "The benefits… in preventing Covid-19 infection and its complications continue to outweigh any risks and the public should continue to get their vaccine when invited to do so."
On the other hand, several European countries restricted the use of the vaccine to be exclusive to people aged over 55 years old such as Germany and Netherlands.
However, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) confirmed that AstraZeneca is safe and effective.
