On Monday, The UK decided to impose new sanctions against Belarus for its support of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.

The British government said in a statement that the UK will impose a ban on the export of luxury goods to Belarus, including British works of art.

The statement added that the United Kingdom will impose a ban on imports of iron and steel from Belarus from Tuesday.

The Russian special military operation has been going on since February 24 in Ukraine; Moscow has set its goal to eliminate the militarization of Ukraine and the Nazi tendencies in the country.

According to the Russian Military of Defense, the armed forces are shelling the military infrastructure and the Ukrainian forces, which are not laying down arms, without prejudice to the civilian population.

As of last March 25, the Russian troops completed the main tasks of the first stage, significantly limiting the combat capabilities of Ukraine, given that the main goal of the operation, as declared by the Russian defense ministry, is the liberation of the Donbas region.

On his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the military operation does not aim at occupying Ukraine.
