The United Kingdom (UK) has decided to impose new sanctions against Russia, including the chemical and biological industries.

Moreover, the British authorities said that the sanctions include financial services related to the import of iron and steel.

Last week, the UK imposed sanctions on Patriarch Krill, head of the Russian Orthodox Church, as part of new series of measures in response to the invasion of Ukraine.

The British Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Kirill, who was recently removed from the European Union’s black list, is being punished for his support of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war.

The measures, which include a ban on entry to the Uk and a freeze on assets in the country, also targeted Maria Lvova-Belova, the Children’s Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation, over allegations of “forced transfer and adoption” of Ukrainian children in Russia.

Along with them, the sanctions list includes officials in the transport sector and soldiers involved in the killings, violence, and torture of civilians in Bucha near Kyiv.

“We are targeting Putin’s accomplices and perpetrators of the war who are causing untold suffering in Ukraine, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss stated.
