UEFA revealed, on Tuesday, the official mascot for UEFA EURO 2024. The mascot is a lovely bear. It was inspired by former mascots like Berni, Goaliath, Rabbit, and Kinas.

The mascot made its first appearance early this morning by surprising children at a primary school in Gelsenkirchen to inspire children across Europe to be inspired by the values of football.

The friendly teddy bear will appear again later before the team’s friendly game against Colombia.

The mascot pays tribute to the enduring appeal of the humble teddy bear, said to have originated in Germany in the early 20th century.

EURO 2024 Director Philip Lahm said: "As a parent, I know how important it is to stimulate children's imagination," adding: "With the launch of our tournament mascot, we hope to create a fun and likeable character that will inspire them to enjoy playing football."

The mascot will start its #MakeMoves journey in schools across Europe, challenging students to use their own physical activity to spark the mascot into life and make it move.

They will be able to create their own special skills and celebrations and have them transformed into mascot animations for the tournament using cutting-edge motion capture technology.

Moreover, UEFA launched a voting to ask people worldwide to choose the name of the mascot.
