On Friday, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body sanctioned FC Barcelona after the club's supporters showed racist behaviors during Barcelona's Champions League match game AS Monaco last week.
The sanctions include banning Barcelona from selling the tickets for their next away game, in addition to paying a fine of €10,000.
The decision will enforce a previously suspended sanction from April 17 due to racist behaviors by Barcelona fans during their match against Paris Saint-Germain in Paris.
Barcelona's fans will be banned from attending the club's next UEFA Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade during the fourth round of the prestigious club competition.
During the game at Monaco's Stade Louis II, Barcelona's supporters showed a black banner carried "Flick Heil," which belongs to Nazi-era language.
On their side, Barcelona responded in a statement, saying: "The Club communicate that it will both comply with and apply this sanction for the UEFA Champions League matchday four fixture that the team will play against FK Crvena zvezda in Belgrade on 6 November. FC Barcelona will return the ticket cost for fans who have already purchased said ticket."
In their statement, Barcelona asserted rejection of any type of justification for violence, and as indicated in articles 3 and 4 of the Statutes, they strive to protect and promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights contained in the International Bill of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations.
