On Saturday, The United Arab Emirates entered the Guinness Book of Records for presenting the biggest sports medal in the world.

According to the Emirates news agency, the massive sports medal bears the emblem of an initiative known as ‘Al Forsan’.

‘Al Forsan’ initiative is of a history-rich legacy, that revolves around the spirited sense of entrepreneurship, through the dynamic notion of positive citizenship.

Indeed, the dimensions of the medal are reflective of this sentiment. Its actual weight is nearly 68.5 kilograms and has a surface diameter of 2.56 sqm. Furthermore, the massive medal is about 160 centimetres in length and width.

According to sky news Arabia, the main theme of this initiative embodies the surge of interest in sports and challenging physical activities in the UAE, whose foundations were laid by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Obaid Al Ketbi, an Emirati businessman, who is the visionary behind the ‘Al Forsan’ initiative affirmed his patriotic pride for securing this accomplishment through attaining a place within the Guinness World Records.
