The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed El-Tayeb, President of the Muslim Council of Elders, exchanged greetings for Eid Al-Adha with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, via a phone call. They both prayed for Allah to bless humanity with goodness, prosperity, and blessings during happy occasions and celebrations, and to bestow upon the Islamic nation security, stability, and prosperity.

During the phone call, the Grand Imam expressed his appreciation for the UAE and its wise leadership's global and regional efforts to promote peace, brotherhood, tolerance, and serve the Islamic issues and Arab and Islamic nations.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, in turn, expressed his appreciation for Al-Azhar and the Grand Imam's efforts to strengthen the values of human brotherhood and coexistence and to present the correct teachings of Islam to the world.

Eid Al-Adha is a significant occasion in the Islamic calendar that commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah. Muslims around the world celebrate Eid Al-Adha by performing prayers, exchanging gifts, and sacrificing an animal as a symbol of Prophet Ibrahim's sacrifice.

The exchange of greetings between the UAE President and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar is a testament to the strong ties between the UAE and Al-Azhar and their shared commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and respect for all.
