The United Arab Emirates (UAE) intercepted and destroyed, on Monday, two ballistic missiles launched by Iran-backed Houthi militia towards Abu Dhabi, Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"The attack did not result in any casualties, as the remnants of ballistic missiles that were intercepted and destroyed fell in separate areas around Abu Dhabi," the statement read.

Moreover, the ministry confirmed that it is ready to deal with any threats and take all necessary measures to protect the country from all attacks.

It is worth mentioning that, Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League (AL), Ambassador Mohamed Aboul Khair expressed, on Sunday, Egypt’s full solidarity with the UAE, strongly denouncing Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia terrorist attack against it.

The ambassador’s remarks came during the extraordinary meeting convened by AL, on the recent terrorist attacks against the UAE.

“We fully support all measures taken by the UAE to deal with any terrorist act targeting it,” Aboul Khair added, during the session.

Moreover, he affirmed that Egypt’s national security is closely linked to the UAE’s security.
