The  United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that it has given at least one dose of the anti-Corona vaccine to all its residents, according to figures issued by the Ministry of Health today, Saturday.

And the UAE Ministry of Health announced the provision of 19,944 doses of the anti-Corona vaccines, during the last 24 hours, bringing the total doses that were provided until yesterday, Friday, 21,802,032 doses, and the rate of vaccine distribution is 22,044 doses per 100 people, and 100% for the recipients of the first dose.

And 90.18% of the total population in the UAE received two doses.

On the other hand, the UAE authorities decided to suspend entry to travelers from 7 African countries, including the Republic of South Africa, in light of fears of the new strain of the Coronavirus (Omicron) recently detected in South Africa.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced the suspension of entry for travelers from South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Mozambique on all flights of national and foreign carriers, as well as transit passengers coming from them, as of Monday, November 29.

This includes, as reported by the official Emirati “WAM”  news agency, “suspension of entry for travelers who were in these countries during the 14-day period before coming to the UAE with the continuation of flights, as it will allow the transfer of passengers from the UAE to these countries.”

On Friday, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified the new strain as "alarming", the fifth version to be placed in this classification.
