On Friday, the first aid ship passed through the humanitarian maritime corridor from Cyprus to Gaza arrived in Gaza, UAE announced.

The ship carries 200 tons of humanitarian aid for Gaza people.

A few days ago, the first aid ship sailed from Larnaca to Gaza, taking the path of the newly established humanitarian maritime corridor to deliver aid to Gaza.

The President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides posted on X, saying the Amalthia journey of hope has only just begun.

The Amalthia journey is one of hope and humanity, and it has only just begun, President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides wrote on the platform 'X'.

Referring to the first ship that sailed this morning from Larnaka port to bring humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, he wrote that "the first ship in the context of the Cyprus Maritime Corridor Initiative for humanitarian aid to Gaza has sailed. It is a lifeline to civilians".

The "Open Arms" aid ship left Larnaca port and commenced its journey to Gaza on Tuesday morning, carrying almost 200 tons of humanitarian aid, as part of Amalthea initiative, in which the Cyprus government played a key role along with other partners.
