Mike Tyson has added further speculation he is ready to make a return to the world of fighting by saying he might be interested in a UFC fight.
The 53-year-old announced his intention to make a comeback in exhibition boxing fights last month and there has been relentless rumours about a potential fight ever since.
Tyson’s last appearance in the ring was in 2005 when he was beaten by Kevin McBride in the final fight of his professional career.
Speaking on Facebook during a #PlayApartTogether gaming event, Tyson admitted he was itching to ‘go to war’ again, and help people struggling with drug addiction and the homeless.
‘That’s all I’ve been doing, getting into shape,’ he said about his lockdown routine. ‘I feel unstoppable now. I feel the same [as when I was in my prime] again. The gods of war ignited my ego and want me to go to war again.’
He added: "Imagine if I went out there and fought and I could help all these people we talked about."
Asked if he would have been interested in becoming a UFC fighter in his prime, Tyson hinted he would be keen to compete in MMA now.
He replied: "You never know. It may not be over yet. Anything’s possible. ‘You never know baby. I’m feeling good these days. You never know."
