On Sunday, the member of the Egyptian Parliament and Director of the Center for Middle East Studies in Paris (CEMO), Abdel Rahim Ali, considered Turkish President Erdogan's interference in Libya by transporting mercenaries and weapons as direct invasion and occupation.

Ali said that the Turkish president should be tried as a war criminal before the International Criminal Court because of the severe terrorist operations he committed inside Libya.

"The Turkish terrorist regime looks for turning Libya into a war zone," he said, calling on the international community to intervene swiftly to stop the Turkish invasion and aggression in Libya.

He emphasized that what Turkey is doing inside Libya remain unacceptable interference in the Libyan internal affairs, questioning: “What is the United Nations and the Security Council waiting for after the terrorist and criminal operations carried out by the Turkish regime and declaring to the whole world that it will seize the Libyan oil and the capabilities of the Libyan people?”

Turkish Erdogan's ambitions in Libya

The Egyptian parliamentarian appealed to the legitimate political forces inside Libya and the Libyan people to stand one row behind the army headed by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar to confront the aggression and Turkish invasion of Libya that seeks to steal the Libyan oil and the capabilities and wealth of the people.

He emphasized that all attempts of Erdogan will be deemed to failure.

The MP appreciated the French and Italian position on the issue of arms smuggling to Libya, through the refusal of the French and Italian defense ministers to smuggle weapons to Libya.

France and Italy have asserted the necessity to launch the Berlin Peace Process in Libya and that there is no military solution to the crisis in Libya.
