Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen has insisted that her country will not bow to pressure from China and will defend its democratic way of life, according to the latest international reports.

In a statement released this week by the Beijing government, China's President Xi Jinping has vowed amid heightened tensions over the island to "fulfill reunification".

In response to his strange request, the Taiwanese strong leader said, "The more we achieve, the greater the pressure we face from China."

This conflict came after several illegal military overflights by the Chinese airplanes and military jets in Taiwan’s air defense area for four consecutive days, which some politicians and military experts say could be seen as a warning to Taiwan’s president ahead of the island’s national day.

Indeed, Chinese illegal military overflights could be seen as a warning to Taiwan's president ahead of Sunday's National Day, according to American politicians and European geopolitical experts,

It's worth mentioning that Taiwan considers itself a sovereign state, but China views it as a breakaway province and has not ruled out the possible use of force to achieve unification with the island. On this basis, China carried out several offensive operations against the sovereignty of Taiwan since its establishment.
