Former US President Donald Trump published on his social media platform, Truth Social, an article urging him to run for the presidency for a third party if the Republicans failed to grant him the party’s nomination in the upcoming elections in 2024.

According to the British newspaper The Independent, Trump, who announced last month his candidacy in the Republican primary race to select the party's candidate in the 2024 presidential election, published the article published in the right-wing American magazine Greatness, and the article likens Trump's candidacy for a third party to the candidacy of Theodore Roosevelt in 1912, whose campaign split the Republican vote and led to the defeat of William Howard Taft by Woodrow Wilson.

Editorial writer Dan Glitter said that the inevitable consequences of Trump's candidacy for a third party will take over the upcoming elections for the Democratic candidate.

And Glitter indicated that the result would be justified to punish the Republicans for their rejection of Trump in the event that he lost the party’s nomination to another candidate.
