Former US President Donald Trump has called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to quickly bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
This marks the first instance of Trump advocating for a resolution to the Gaza war, as per reports from Axios.
During an interview on Fox News' "Media Buzz" program, Trump urged Israel to take decisive action to resolve the situation.
When asked by host Howard Kurtz about his message to Netanyahu regarding the conflict, Trump emphasized the need for a swift resolution and a return to peace.
He emphasized the importance of achieving peace not only in the Middle East but also globally.
Notably, Trump did not delve into discussions about hostages or any specific conditions he believes should be met to achieve a ceasefire.
While Trump has shown support for Israel in recent months, he has refrained from openly endorsing Netanyahu.
Instead, he has expressed disappointment in Netanyahu for what he perceives as a lack of cooperation in missions such as the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.
Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force, Iran's elite military unit, was killed in a US drone strike near Baghdad airport on January 3, 2020, on orders from Trump.
