US President Donald Trump has set a specific deadline for Iran, stating that the ultimatum to reopen the Strait of Hormuz will expire on Tuesday at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.

In a brief social media post, Trump announced the timing without further details, reinforcing earlier warnings directed at Tehran over the strategic waterway.

In a separate message on his Truth Social platform, Trump escalated his rhetoric, threatening strikes on Iranian infrastructure if the deadline passes without action. He said Tuesday would be “the day of power plants and bridges,” warning that such attacks could take place in a single day if Iran does not comply.

He added a stark warning, urging Iran to reopen the strait or face severe consequences, saying the country would otherwise “live in hell.”

Despite the sharp tone, Trump indicated in an interview with Fox News that there remains a possibility of reaching an agreement. He suggested that diplomatic progress could still be achieved before the deadline, but warned that failure to do so could lead to a broader military response targeting key assets.
