US President Donald Trump anticipated on Sunday that the death rate in the United States due to the new Corona virus could peak in two weeks.

During a White House press conference, Trump stated that he would extend government guidelines on "social pergence" until April 30.

"We are facing an unprecedented pandemic and this virus is strong due to its rapid spread," he said, confirming that several experiments have been conducted on drugs to treat the novel Corona virus.

The US President announced in a press conference that 50 thousand test devices will be provided to diagnose the corona infection, pointing out that speeding up the tests will contribute to cordoning off the virus.

”If we had not moved, more than two million people would have lost their lives because of this epidemic," Trump said. "We have done a great deal to avoid the worst scenario thanks to Corona.”

He expressed the hope that the blood transfusion of the recovered would be an effective way to confront the virus.

Trump announced the arrival of the first plane to Kennedy Airport loaded with respirators and a million masks, and denounced that some hospitals keep respirators without use or the need for it.

The president said that we are building a hospital in New Jersey, adding, "We have made a great leap in conducting diagnostic tests.”

About an hour before the press conference, Trump said during his meeting with the Crisis Cell that his administration would not hesitate to exert an effort to tackle this Corona epidemic, adding that the US administration is continuously working to secure medical equipment, masks and respirators.

In addition, Trump stressed that America is waging a war against an invisible enemy, calling on hospitals that do not use their respirators to deliver them.

The number of deaths caused by the new Corona virus in the United States exceeded two thousand, while the number of infections rose to more than 120 thousand, according to the latest census from Johns Hopkins University, on Saturday evening.
