US President Donald Trump urged Congress to amend coronavirus aids plan worth $900bn. In a video message posted on Twitter Today, he said that the package "really is a disgrace", full of "wasteful" items. "The Covid-19 relief bill, it has almost nothing to do with Covid-19," Trump said.

Trump, questioned why the Kennedy Center, a performing arts complex in Washington DC, was set to receive $40m when it is not open, and more than $1bn has been allocated to museums and galleries in the capital.

Also, he concluded: "Congress found plenty of money for foreign countries, lobbyists and special interests, while sending the bare minimum to the American people who need it. It wasn't their fault. It was China's fault.

Meanwhile, the package designed to help Americans struggling through the pandemic, is linked to a bigger government spending bill, which includes a $1.4tn spending measure to fund federal agencies for the next nine months as well as foreign aid funding.

According to WASHINGTON post, the Congress deal would deliver the first significant infusion of federal dollars into the economy since April, as negotiators broke through months of partisan gridlock that had scuttled earlier talks, leaving millions of Americans and businesses without federal help as the pandemic raged.

On other hand, the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi explained that the plan inadequate and noted they would soon push for more relief spending after President-elect Joe Biden takes office on Jan. 20. Moreover, the relief plan includes direct payments of $600 to most adults and $600 per child, according to Pelosi.
