US President Donald Trump has not ruled out deploying American ground forces to Iran if necessary, signaling a potential escalation amid rising regional tensions.

In remarks to the New York Post, Trump said he would not categorically reject sending US troops into Iran, stressing that while ground forces may not be required, they remain an option if circumstances demand it.

His comments come as the United States and Israel continue joint military operations targeting Iran. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed Monday that no American ground troops have entered Iranian territory as part of the current campaign.

However, he emphasized that Washington stands ready to escalate further if needed, noting that the conflict, which began Saturday, could last up to six weeks.

Trump’s statement underscores growing uncertainty surrounding US military strategy in the Middle East and raises questions about the potential expansion of the conflict.

Analysts warn that the deployment of US ground troops to Iran would represent a significant geopolitical shift with far-reaching regional and global consequences.
