NBC reported on Sunday that disagreements over how to deal with the Iranian issue and Hamas in Gaza have led to a deterioration in relations between US President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the report, which is based on sources familiar with the details, Netanyahu sees an opportunity during this period to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, while Trump prefers to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons through an agreement.
Regarding Gaza, Trump reportedly also favors a ceasefire and progress with his plan to transform Gaza into the "Riviera of the Middle East." Regarding the Houthis, Trump's announcement of a halt to US attacks against them also left Netanyahu stunned.
Reports also indicated that Trump, in a private conversation, described the new Israeli operation in Gaza as a "futile effort," and that the operation would make it difficult to rebuild the Strip. Trump is trying to pressure Israel to move toward a ceasefire. In addition to all of this, the main point of disagreement revolves around Iran.
