US President Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his planned three-nation Asian tour, if Kim takes the initiative.
Asked if he would be willing to meet Kim, Trump told reporters, "I'm open to it. My relationship with him is great," Bloomberg reported.
The US president declared on Friday that North Korea is "somewhat of a nuclear power," as he departed the United States for Asia on a trip that may include a meeting with Pyongyang's leader, Kim Jong Un.
The US president left Washington for a five-day trip to Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea.
