Tragic Cyclone in Libya Claims Lives of 9 Palestinians

In recent news, it has been reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates that nine Palestinians have lost their lives in eastern Libya due to a powerful cyclone. 

The family of Mahmoud Al-Tawab, consisting of nine members including his wife and children, tragically perished in the Derna area as a result of the destructive floods caused by the cyclone. 

The ministry has also mentioned an increase in the number of missing persons, with three individuals currently unaccounted for. 

The situation of 62 stranded Palestinians in a village near Derna is being closely monitored, and efforts are underway to ensure their safe relocation to safer areas in coordination with the Libyan Red Crescent. 

Ambassador Ahmed Al-Deek has emphasized the extremely challenging conditions in the affected region of eastern Libya. The cyclone's impact has garnered international attention, as it has claimed the lives of people from various nationalities. 

The Palestinian community, along with others in the region, is grappling with the aftermath of this natural disaster.
