The Egyptian Tourism Ministry will partake for the first time in the annual International Charity Bazaar, set to be held in the United Nations Office in Geneva, on December 3.

The bazaar is organized by the United Nations Women's Guild (UNWG) in cooperation with the Swiss government, the Swiss Business Community, and the permanent delegations to the UN in Geneva.

Egypt was chosen to chair the Bazaar this year.

During the event, the ministry will present a prize- a tourist trip to Egypt in a lottery draw.

The Bazaar aims to fund some children-related projects in the developing countries as it funded nearly 60 ventures in 2018, including two in Egypt.

In this score, Tourism Minister Dr. Rania Al-Mashat stressed the importance of partaking in this event in light of the ministry's interest in promoting Egypt in important international events.

"This year's participation comes in terms of developing the ministry's relations with the international institutions, as a main pillar of the Egypt-Tourism Reform Program (E-TRP)," Al Mashat pointed out.

The minister lauded the Bazaar's contribution to funding charitable projects which help children.

Meanwhile, Chairwoman of 2019 Bazaar Mrs. Mahitab Marzouk, spouse of Egypt's permanent representative to the UN office and other international organizations in Geneva, said the tourism ministry's participation is a great opportunity for promoting Egypt.

She mentioned that the event's organizers expressed their happiness for the ministry's gift.

The trip includes a tour program for a week in Luxor and Aswan, during which the winners will visit the most important tourist attractions there. It will also cover the transportation from and to Geneva and accommodation in Egypt.
