Helmy Toulan, the head coach of Egypt's second national team, confirmed his players' readiness to compete in the 2025 Arab Cup, which kicks off tomorrow, Monday, in Qatar.
Egypt's second team will face the UAE, Kuwait, and Jordan in Group C of the 2025 Arab Cup. The Pharaohs will begin their campaign against Kuwait on Tuesday in the first round of matches.
Kuwait defeated Mauritania 2-0 in their match at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar, during the Arab Cup qualifiers, thus joining Egypt's group.
Helmy Toulan told Reuters, "Our ambitions are high. We had a short but very beneficial training camp. We are aiming for excellent results, and we are ready to face Kuwait in the opening match of Group C."
Qatar is preparing to host the 11th edition of the Arab Cup, which will take place from December 1st to 18th, with 16 teams participating, most notably Egypt's second-string team, led by coach Helmy Toulan.
The previous edition of the Arab Cup, held in Qatar in 2021, saw a record participation of 16 teams, the same number scheduled for the 11th edition, which kicks off in a few days.
The matches of the 11th Arab Cup will be held in six stadiums that have previously hosted FIFA World Cup matches: Al Bayt Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, Stadium 974, and the stadium in Education City.
It is worth noting that the previous edition of the tournament in 2021 also featured matches in six world-class stadiums, including Al Bayt Stadium, Stadium 974 (formerly known as Ras Abu Aboud Stadium), Al Janoub Stadium, Education City Stadium, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, and Al Thumama Stadium.
