The Round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup came to an end on Tuesday, with Portugal and Morocco earning the final two spots in the quarterfinals after the Iberian team's thrashing of Switzerland and the North Africans' shock victory over Spain on penalties.
Fernando Santos' team also defeated Switzerland with Gonçalo Ramos scoring three goals for Benfica.
Only one player currently leads the World Cup scoring charts, PSG forward Kylian Mbappe, who has five goals in the competition. Teammate Olivier Giroud is one of many players with three goals. The only players whose countries are no longer competing in the competition are Alvaro Morata of Spain and Enner Valencia of Ecuador.
Beginning on Friday, the quarterfinal matches feature Croatia taking on Brazil, Netherlands taking on Argentina, and Morocco taking on Portugal on Saturday night before the quarterfinal match between France and England draws the 2022 World Cup to a close.
