Thousands of people took to the streets of Rome waving peace flags, demanding an end to the Gaza war under the slogan "Stop the massacre... Stop the complicity." Many people from all over Italy joined them.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, police confirmed that the number of demonstrators reached 10,000, with thousands more gathering in the square where the demonstration concluded.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stressed that Israel must immediately cease its operations in Gaza and protect civilians there. Meloni said, "Israel's response has reached an unacceptable level, and it must stop immediately and protect the civilian population.
