Thousands of Israelis gathered today, Sunday, in the vicinity of government headquarters in the occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem and the Knesset, to demand freeing the hostages and the removal of Israeli prime Minister Netanyahu.
The Israeli police said in a statement that it had raised the state of alert in preparation for demonstrations by families of hostages held by Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.
In the last hour, the police forcefully repelled and dispersed the demonstrators, arresting two. The families of the hostages threatened to burn Israel if the government did not respond to their demands.
Palestinian factions say that Netanyahu's government refuses implementing the deal of exchanging prisoners and hostages.
