Dr. Zahi Hawass is one of the most important archaeologists in Egypt and the world. We have been friends  and have working relationship  since he was working in the Giza pyramids area. I follow up his work and his positions as his primary goal is to preserve antiquities and reveal new secrets. He is always seeking to uncover the good image of Egypt at the global and internal levels, he was the first one to encourage Egyptian missions to excavate and extract Egypt’s treasures .

I wrote about him since I met him in the pyramids area as a great archaeologist, friend and a serious figure who works sincerely and does his best for the sake of a science that he likes and adores. A long history that Dr. Zahi mentions in his interesting book, I worked with him in campaigns to protect antiquities and preserve the global human heritage, such as preserving the western mainland from encroachments, until a republican decision was issued to consider it as a reserve for human heritage. when I won a prize from UNESCO in a competition on the protection of world heritage, in which 196 countries around the world participated , I won this prize thanks to Dr. Zahi Hawass who explained a lot of things to me, and of course, the brilliant former minister Farouk Hosni.

The book entitled  "The Guardian", recently issued by Dr. Zahi, talks about the journey of a great archaeologist who loved Egypt and its antiquities, he tells us interesting stories, attracting the attention of  the reader to delve into its depths.. Books about antiquities and about foreigners who left their countries and preferred to stay in Egypt, attracted by the charm of its history.

The book contains 16 chapters in which Dr. Hawass talks about his  biography, from his childhood until the last award he received.

The book reviews the most important discoveries that were made in the the pyramids area. It also talks about the battles and issues he fought over many years and the difficulties he faced, and how he overcame them.. A rich and ambitious personal life story. He loved the history of his country, revealed its secrets, and historical depth.

I am very happy that this book talks about his life and his long and honorable career in a beautiful, smooth and exciting style that makes you do not leave the book until you finish reading it.. the book signing ceremony will be next Saturday at one of the major hotels.

Tribute to Dr. Zahi Hawass.
