A new installment in "The Conjuring" franchise is officially in the works.
"The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick returning alongside producing duo James Wan and Peter Safran for the upcoming movie.
Johnson-McGoldrick is a franchise favorite and frequent Wan collaborator having penned the script for the second and third Conjuring installments.
Wan confirmed on Instagram that Wilson and his Conjuring universe counterpart, Vera Farmiga will return for the upcoming sequel.
The pair have starred as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in four movies of Wan's Conjuring universe, which has spawned eight movies.
"The Conjuring" grossed more than $2.1 billion worldwide and became the highest-grossing horror franchise to date and one of the most successful franchises in modern media.
Wilson and Farmiga reprised their roles as the Warrens in 2021's "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It".
While no director has been announced yet for the upcoming movie, it is possible Michael Chaves could take up the mantle once more.
"The Conjuring 4" does not yet have a release date.
