Tesla is preparing to launch a new Full Self-Driving monthly subscription based on an update to its mobile app.

The idea of FSD subscriptions could prove quite popular among electric car owners, especially since it would allow budget-conscious customers to make the most out of the company’s driver-assist and self-driving systems without committing to the features’ full price.

According to the firm, the current price of the Full Self-Driving suite is no joke, after all, being listed at $8,000 on top of a vehicle’s cost. By offering subscriptions to features like Navigate on Autopilot with automatic lane changes, owners could gain access to advanced functions only as they are needed.

In contrast, Elon Musk, explained that ultimately, he still believes that purchasing the Full Self-Driving suite outright provides the most value to customers, as it is an investment that would pay off in the future.

He added that it will still make sense to buy FSD as an option as in our view, buying FSD is an investment in the future. And we are confident that it is an investment that will pay off to the consumer to the benefit of the consumer.

Last year, the firm launched in Los Angeles New Tesla’s Cybertruck; it doubled down on the sedan and large SUV business.

According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the new vehicle in nearly Trumpian terms, calling it better than Ford’s best-selling F-150.

On other hand, Tesla production on the cybertruck is expected to begin in late 2021. Musk earlier tweeted that the design was partly influenced by the Lotus Esprit sportscar that doubled as a submarine in the 1970s James Bond film- The Spy Who Loved Me. The starting price for this electric truck is $39,900, and Tesla is taking pre-orders now with just $100 down.

According to Guardian’s report, Tesla’s Model 3 sedan is the world’s top-selling battery electric car and this is the carmaker’s first foray into pickup trucks, a market dominated by Ford’s F-150 and competitors from General and Fiat Chrysler.

It features sub-$40k model comes with RWD, a single motor and has the EPA-estimated 250+ miles of range, and a dual-motor AWD option ups the range to 300+ for an extra $10,000, and adding yet another $10k gets you a tri-motor AWD Cybertruck with the max towing capacity and range.
