Dr. Mohamed Ali Fahim, Head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, announced that a slight drop in temperatures is expected on the first day of Eid al-Adha. This cooler weather will primarily affect the northern regions, the Nile Delta, and Cairo, while other areas will continue to experience extreme heat.

Dr. Fahim cautioned against prolonged direct exposure to sunlight and recommended taking preventive measures such as using dampened head covers, wearing loose, cotton clothing, and ensuring children and the elderly drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.

He explained the increased danger of sun exposure due to the sun's alignment over the Tropic of Cancer, which is near Aswan. This alignment results in more intense and hazardous short-wave solar radiation. During this period, the sun’s rays are vertical and highly concentrated, penetrating less atmospheric thickness. As a result, direct exposure to sunlight poses significant health risks, including a higher chance of sunstroke, especially during severe heat waves.
