Tatweer Misr Announces Winners of Youth Innovation Award

Tatweer Misr announced on Wednesday the names of the winners of its annual innovation competition for 2019, organized by the company for the third year in a row.

The finalists presented their innovative ideas before the six-member jury, led by Dr. Ahmed Shalaby, CEO and Managing Director of Tatweer Misr.

The Jury members also include Mr. Baher Ayoub, senior vice president, CEO projects and board member of Tatweer Misr, Mr. Sherif Seif El Nasr, marketing and sales consultant at Tatweer Misr, Eng. Moustafa Fouda, senior development manager at Tatweer Misr, Mrs. Aida Kabil, marketing director at Tatweer Misr, Mr. Mohamed Al-Qalla, a co-founder of Ahead of the Curve.

Tatweer Misr Innovation competition has been held annually since 2017 to support and empower entrepreneurs to create innovative solutions and ideas, addressing the perse challenges facing the real estate market in Egypt.

The 3rd edition of the competition was announced during the Global Entrepreneurship Week in November 2018, where a large number of university students and graduates of marketing and architecture departments participated.

Seven contestants were qualified to participate in the final stage of the competition, after presenting many promising ideas. The jury selected the two winning ideas in the field of engineering and awarded certificates of honor to all contestants in recognition of their efforts during the competition.

The startup company "Green Mile" has claimed the first place, while "Personalizing Urban Space" company has won second place.

Tatweer Misr will provide the winners with three training opportunities, for a week, in the field of entrepreneurship in Sharjah, UAE, in addition to an opportunity to participate At Sharjah Festival of Entrepreneurship.

After reviewing the innovative ideas of the winners, Tatweer Misr added two awards including signing a technical consultancy contract to enable them to develop their projects and implement their distinctive ideas in the company's projects.

On his part, Dr. Shalaby said: “We are truly proud of the constants' innovative ideas. These young people represent the leaders of the future."

“Through this competition, we aim at creating a real competitive environment for our constants, which reflect their creativity,” Shalaby added. “The company intends to continue investing in organizing this competition to encourage entrepreneurs to participate and win the award not only from Egypt but also from the Middle East and North Africa.”

On the other hand, startup company "Green Mile" members said that Tatweer Misr provided them with the opportunity and support needed to enrich their technical skills and capabilities, helping them to prove themselves as an entrepreneur in the engineering field.

“Tatweer Egypt has succeeded in creating a state of inspiration for us during the competition through sharing its vision with regard to innovative ideas that are being applied in its projects, which helped us to present ideas that exceeded the expectations of the jury members,” the second-place winner said.

Noteworthy, since its inception, Tatweer Misr corporate’s strategy is based on supporting entrepreneurship and innovation as the main pillars of its community programs. The entity continues to launch and implement several initiatives to empower Egyptian youth in various fields.
