Tanzanian Ambassador Visits Egyptian-Japanese Univ.

Dr. Ahmed El Gohary, President of Egypt Japan University Of Science & Technology received Tanzanian ambassador in Cairo Anselm Bahati to discuss cooperation between the university and its counterparts in Tanzania, to take advantage of the scholarships granted to African students from the Japanese government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

In the light of what was discussed in the "Yokohama Executive Plan 2019" during the seventh TICAD Summit held last August, the Egyptian-Japanese University announced the provision of 150 scholarships, starting in September 2020 for African cadres, within the framework of cooperation between the Egyptian and Japanese governments.

These scholarships aim to enhance human resources in the fields of science, technology and creativity to contribute to the development of African countries.

Dr. El Gohary said that the University, in coordination with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), receives applications of African students in departments of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Robotics and Mechatronic Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering and Systems Management, Materials Science Engineering, Energy Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering, in addition to the programs of Basic Applied Science Institute, Nano-chemistry, biotechnology, computational and applied mathematics and energy materials science.
