The Second Grand Slam Champion in the history of the New Japan Pro Wrestling, and pro wrestling icon Hiroshi Tanahashi received a major and a senior title outside the ring.
NJPW announced that, after a meeting of their board of directors and shareholders, the appointment of Tanahashi has been appointed the new President and Representative Director, and Hitoshi Matsumoto has been appointed the Director, among other changes.
The oldest pro wrestling promotion in Japan said in a statement: "There will be a press conference on December 26 at 1PM JST concerning the changes made above."
Tanahashi commented on the news on social media, saying that he will do his best to help fans enjoy NJPW even more.
