Renowned Egyptian star Tamer Hosny celebrated on Wednesday his 46th birthday and received a large number of congratulatory messages on his official social media platforms.

Hosny is one of the finest singers and actors in the history of the Arab film industry. Born on August 16, 1977, he launched his music career with his 2004 album "Hob", establishing himself as a successful romantic singer and was dubbed the nickname "King of the Generation" by his fans.

At age 12, Hosny made his first acting role in a 1990 short film titled "Khat El Nehaya" (The End Line), directed by Amr El-Leithy and co-starring Sabry Fawaz and Nashwa Mustafa.

He landed his first major role in the 2003 film "Halet Hob" (A State of Love), which boosted his fame and was followed by many remarkable films and stunning performances.

In 2011, Hosny starred in his first role in a drama with the "Adam" series, a performance that earned much praise from his fans and Egyptian critics alike.

The mega singer is well known for his humanitarian stances the last of which was visiting the late young YouTuber Mostafa Hefnawy in the hospital before his death as well as asking all his fans to pray for his recovery.
