TV presenter Tamer Amin apologized to Egyptian Model Merhan Hisham after a court sentenced him two weeks ago to two years in prison with a bail of EGP50,000 on charges or insulting her on his TV show.

On June 24, Amin addressed on his show a harassment case Hisham raised against some Egyptian footballers during a training camp ahead of the World Cup. He insulted her by saying that "someone ugly like Merhan could not be a victim of sexual harassment".

People circulated online a video of Amin's apology, in which he stated that there is no disagreement between him and Hisham and that they didn't previously know each other.

He noted that what he said about her could offend her and heat and excitement was what prompted him to say what he said

Amin stated that he didn't mean any insult or contempt to her as well as carries full respect and appreciation for her noting that this was not his intended at all.
