A spokesman for the political office of the "Taliban" movement in Qatar said that the group was ready to cooperate in the investigation of the September 11 terrorist attacks when it occurred 20 years ago.
Sohail Shaheen added in an interview, "I remember that we condemned the incident. Abdul Salam Zarif was the ambassador in Pakistan and I was an aide. We held a press conference and condemned the attack, and said we would cooperate to uncover the truth behind the scenes and the perpetrators," according to what was reported by Geo TV on Saturday.
Shaheen said that the Taliban movement called on Washington 20 years ago to solve the issue through dialogue and not invasion.
