Sisi's Health Advisor Warns Egyptians of 4th COVID-19 Wave

Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag Eldin, the President's advisor for medical affairs, warned Egyptians of the fourth wave of Coronavirus, media agencies reported on Tuesday.

He said that Egypt is currently seeing a continued rise in daily infections, and this rise would last for at least month and half before hitting its climax.

Tag Eldin explained that the state detected infections among same families' members, however, all recently critical COVID-19 cases are for old aged people. He also expressed that no deaths are recorded for children until now.

Finally, he concluded that the medical situation in Egypt is still stable, and it would pass as the previous waves with their same stages of progression, affirming, the necessity of strictly following all protective procedures against Coronavirus.

It is worthy to mention that Egypt reported new 491 COVID-19 cases on Monday, increasing the total number of infections since the beginning of the pandamic to 293 thousand cases.

Regarding the number of death linked to Coronavirus, Egypt recorded new 14 deaths, reaching the total number of deaths to 16,885.

About 399 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 247,125.

Egypt plans to vaccinate 40 million citizens by the end of the year, representing around 40% of the population.
