On Saturday, the Syrian Embassy in Riyadh was reopened after more than a decade of closure, in compliance with the decision of both countries to resume their diplomatic missions, as reported by Syrian media outlets.

According to the Syrian newspaper "Al-Watan," the Syrian Consul, Ehsan Raman, arrived at the Syrian Embassy in Riyadh's diplomatic district to resume diplomatic work.

On May 9th of the previous year, Syria announced the resumption of its diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia, following a similar decision by Riyadh to resume its mission in Damascus.

The Syrian diplomatic mission in Riyadh comprises Ehsan Raman as Consul, along with Amer Al-Tayyan, Hussein Abdul Aziz, and Rakan Dawood.

Upon arriving at the embassy, Raman stated, "The embassy in Riyadh is a home for all Syrians and serves all members of the Syrian community in Saudi Arabia. We are working diligently to open the embassy's doors as soon as possible to provide the best consular services, particularly those related to passport matters, especially expired passports."

In April of the previous year, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad visited Jeddah, marking the first official visit to Saudi Arabia since the two nations severed relations at the beginning of the Syrian conflict.

These developments culminated in May when Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman hosted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during his attendance at the Arab Summit held in Jeddah.
