The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic condemned in the strongest terms the bombing of the Presidential Palace yesterday by the Israeli occupation, which constitutes a "dangerous escalation against state institutions and sovereignty."
The Presidency affirmed that this reprehensible attack reflects the continuation of "reckless movements seeking to destabilize the country and exacerbate security crises, targeting national security and the unity of the Syrian people." The Presidency emphasized that Syria will not compromise its sovereignty or security and will continue to defend the rights of its people by all available means.
In a statement carried by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Syrian Presidency called on the international community and Arab countries to stand with Syria in confronting these aggressive attacks, which violate international laws and conventions. It called on Arab countries to support Syria in confronting these attacks, ensuring the preservation of the rights of the Arab peoples in confronting aggressive Israeli practices.
The Syrian Presidency affirmed that these attacks targeting Syria's unity, whether domestic or foreign, will not succeed in weakening the will of the Syrian people or hindering the state's efforts to achieve stability and peace in all regions.
The Presidency noted that the relevant security services are continuing the necessary investigations to punish those responsible for these attacks and will continue to work resolutely to prevent any threats to the security of the homeland and its citizens.
Yesterday, the Israeli occupation air force carried out an airstrike near the presidential palace. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz claimed in a joint statement that the airstrike was a confirmation that Israel would not tolerate any threat to the Druze community.
