The Syrian national team earned a hard-fought 1–0 win over Tunisia in the match held on Monday evening at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, as part of the first round of the group stage of the 2025 Arab Cup, hosted by Qatar from 1 to 18 December.
The only goal of the match was scored in the 48th minute through the experienced Syrian star Omar Khribin, who scored directly from a beautifully taken free kick.
Al-Ahly midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane started for Tunisia alongside former Al Ahly player Ali Maaloul, while Zamalek striker Seif Jaziri began the match on the bench.
Maâloul played the full 90 minutes, Ben Romdhane was substituted after 78 minutes, and Jaziri came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute and played until the end.
